FAQs

1. Haven't you heard? There is a movement to empower mothers and embrace who we are. We need to stop comparing ourselves and feeling inadequate. Why are you doing this anyway?

Yep, we're fully aware that social media has allowed us to compare ourselves to each other and feel inadequate in ways mothers of the past never even imagined. However, that doesn't stop any of us from trying to reach our own level of perfection anyway. Why not share the secrets in doing *it all* without all the overwhelm and feelings of inadequacy?

2. What supplements do you take and do you recommend any for babies?

We will publish materials to further explain this topic as often as we can. The short answer is: we only take fermented cod liver oil from Green Pasture (and we are perusing Rosita EVO). If we take anything else it is only because we have had a test done to confirm that we are deficient in that particular macro or micronutrient. So the answer: We are not health care providers so it is best to consult your HCP for guidance. We recommend asking for tests to prove necessity before supplementing a baby. If mama was healthy, baby has healthy stores. If mama was deficient, baby might also be deficient. That's a good place to start the conversation. We do not recommend the Poly-vi-sol or any other supplement manufactured by the artificial milk companies and "prescribed" by all pediatricians for all babies. Iron is not a supplement to be given with little thought!

3. Since you're so crunchy, you must be anti-vaccines right?  Stay tuned for a lengthy post on this topic soon too! No, we are not "anti-vaccines". We are pro-vaccine choice and totally anti-stupidity/ignorance/uninformed vaccination or non-vaccination. We don't care what vaccine you want to accept (well ok, except Gardasil...that thing is all sorts of messed up!) for yourself or your family. We DO care that you actually did true research on the topic. Any vaccinating or non-vaccinating family that has researched both sides of the argument and has made a choice for themselves gets a gold star in our book. We will maintain that BOTH vaccinating and not vaccinating carry a risk. Ultimately, it is up to the family to decide which risk they want to accept. We don't believe in "the greater good" or herd immunity.

4. Paleo, Vegan, Primal, Vegetarian or Whole food diet?  This is another topic that will be covered in great detail soon. Short answer: All of the above. Any *whole food* diet is a good diet. After years of dabbling in various practices, we have concluded that there are a few excellent ways to figure out which diet is best for your particular body. We look forward to helping you explore that in the future!
